Closed Triangle Gable Vents

A triangle gable vent follows the roof line at the peak of a gable. The polyurethane closed triangle gable vents on this page have horizontal louvers on a solid face that does not pass air. Use them on gables, garage peaks or dormer faces where you want the look of a louver without attic ventilation. If the gable does need airflow, choose an open triangle louver vent, which comes in the same 33 sizes.

There are 27 standard triangle louvers from 24 in to 137 in wide and 5 5/16 in to 52¼ in tall, plus left and right flat-trim triangle louvers at 60 × 30 in, 96 × 32 in and 120 × 40 in. Projection is 1¼ in to 1½ in. Like all Spectis louvers, they are made of polyurethane, and every piece arrives primed white and ready to paint.

Matching your roof pitch. The listings give overall width and height rather than a pitch, and one width can come in more than one slope. At 32 in wide, for example, there is a 5 5/16 in tall and a 10 in tall version. Compare the slope on the CAD drawing with your gable before you order. Install with ADH100 adhesive on every bedding and butt joint, along with the recommended fasteners. How do I match a triangle gable vent to my roof pitch?

Roof pitch is the rise per 12 in of run. The product pages list width and height, not pitch, so compare the slope on the drawing with your roof. As a rough check, divide the height by half the width and multiply by 12. A 48 in × 12 in vent works out to about 6/12. Because the overall size includes the trim, treat the result as approximate and confirm with the drawing.

How are triangle gable vents installed and finished?

Follow the Spectis installation instructions on a suitable mounting surface. Use ADH100 adhesive on all bedding and butt joints with the recommended fasteners. The vents arrive primed white; paint them after installation. Adhesive, fasteners and paint are sold separately.
