Decorative Caps, Balls & Finials

Give your railing a distinctive finishing touch with decorative post tops from Spectis. Choose the simplicity of a smooth ball, the traditional shape of an acorn, or the detailed texture of a pineapple finial. These architectural accents draw the eye to newel posts and help tie together the character of a porch, stairway or entrance.

Choose the shape, then check the fit. Compare the finial’s base or mounting face with the actual surface of your post or cap. Ball diameter, overall height and base width are different measurements; a product’s listed size does not automatically identify the post it fits. Use the dimensions and manufacturer drawing on each listing to select a balanced combination with enough room for the full ornament.

Coordinate the complete post top. For a restrained look, choose a smaller ornament in proportion to the post and railing. A taller or more detailed finial creates a stronger focal point. When pairing a finial with a separate newel cap, check both the cap’s fit on the post and the usable surface beneath the finial. Full profiles provide a complete ornament; half profiles are available on selected styles for placement against a flat surface.

Made from high-density polyurethane, these lightweight decorative pieces arrive primed for painting. Follow Spectis attachment and finishing instructions for your selected model and mounting surface. Posts, separate caps and installation supplies are ordered separately unless the product listing states otherwise.

Browse the styles below, pair them with your newel posts, or contact us with your post dimensions and preferred look for help choosing the right combination.
