Who Spectis is

Spectis makes architectural millwork from high-density, closed-cell polyurethane at its plant in Manitoba, Canada. Each piece is molded for the order and ships factory primed, ready to paint after installation. It is lightweight, holds sharp detail, installs with standard tools, and stands up to weather, insects, and time. More on why Spectis.

Each product page has a PDF drawing with the profile and dimensions, so the plate you check is the piece that ships.
Lighter than wood or plaster
Easier to handle and set on site than heavy wood or plaster profiles. Decorative only: not a rated structural or load-bearing component.
Custom when the catalog doesn't fit
Profiles made to a drawing or a size for commercial and one-off projects, plus custom curved railings.

Stores, restaurants, commercial projects and one-off profiles, made to a drawing or a size. Lead time depends on scope, from about 2 weeks to 3 months.

Installation notes for the spec

  • Adhesive: ADH100 polyurethane construction adhesive on bedding faces and butt joints. A different adhesive can attack the urethane. Fasteners and adhesive are sold separately.
  • Columns: cut to height from the bottom only. Do not trim the top.
  • Finish: ships primed; paint after installation.
  • Lead time: made to order. Orders go to the Manitoba plant the same day, and shipping from Canada typically takes two to three weeks.
