Crown
Our crown collection from Spectis Moulders brings the look of traditional millwork to interior and exterior trim work, without the weight, rot, or upkeep of the real thing. Every piece is factory-primed and paintable, installs with common tools and adhesive, and holds up in exterior applications for years. Projection is how far the crown stands off the wall. Height is how far it drops down the wall. On an 8-foot ceiling, about 3 to 5 inches of height is the usual starting point, and taller walls take a taller profile. Most Spectis crowns are 12-foot sticks. A few decorative profiles are closer to 139 inches. Use ADH100 on every bedding face and butt joint. The sticks ship primed white and are specified for interior or exterior.
What size crown to order
Crown fails when it is too small for the wall or too deep for the soffit. Height is the vertical face. Projection is how far it comes off the wall. Both numbers are on the cut sheet for that profile.
