Blocks and brackets

Which size to pick

Three numbers size a bracket. Projection, called eave depth on the shop pages, is how far it sticks out from the wall. Height is how far it drops. Width is the face, side to side. Measure the opening, then pick the bin that contains that number.

Shop by projection

Shop by height

Shop by width

If the bracket has to follow a roof slope, use roof pitch instead of a flat projection. These bins are the real size categories, not a guess.

Spectis blocks and brackets are factory primed polyurethane corbels and eave brackets. They will not rot if installed properly, and they are made to order.

What a block or bracket is for

A block or bracket sits under an eave, a beam, or a shelf. Width, height, and projection are the three sizes. Projection is how far it sticks out from the wall.

How to measure

Measure the opening you need to fill: the height from the soffit or beam down to where the bracket should end, and the depth it has to reach. Then match width, height, and projection on the product. Space them evenly and count how many that run needs.

How it is made

These are high density polyurethane. Spectis cuts, nails, and glues like wood, and the same piece is used inside and outside. It ships double primed white, ready to paint or stain. A specialty paint finish can make a primed piece look like wood. Installed correctly, it will not rot, warp, or crack.

How to install

Use PL Premium on every bedding joint and every butt joint. Other adhesives can damage the urethane. Finish nails or screws hold the piece while the adhesive cures. Adhesive, nails, and finish are sold separately. If the product or the installation steps are changed, that is on the installer.

How long it takes

Pieces are made for the order, so they are not returnable. The order goes to the Spectis plant in Manitoba the same day. Most orders ship in 2 to 3 weeks. Larger orders can take up to 4 weeks. Confirm the SKU, the size, and the quantity before you buy.

Shipping a long piece

Anything over 72 inches ships by freight. A 12 foot piece ships in a wooden crate. On a smaller order we can cut a long piece in half. The shipping prices on the site are for a commercial address. A residence costs more after checkout. Call 800-986-1250 before a large order. Shipping is often lower, and on some orders it is free.
