A sunburst is the fan-shaped piece in a gable or over a door or window. It is an accent. It is not a louver unless the catalog plate says the face is open. Set it in a framed half-round or in the peak, on a flat, finished surface. The diameter on the plate has to match the opening. A sunburst that is smaller than the arch leaves a gap.
