Gable Brackets for Porch Gables and Eaves
Gable brackets dress the peak of a gable or the underside of the eaves with a decorative shape. Use them on a porch gable, a garage or dormer peak, or along the roof edge. Spectis gable brackets are high-density polyurethane, made for interior and exterior decorative use, and arrive primed white and ready to paint. Complete the peak with matching gable vents.
This collection has 13 designs: shell-fan and spoke-fan brackets; molded, beaded, spoke and ball-drop arch brackets; a capped curved bracket; an arched triangle; a king-post bracket; an arched bracket; and two pitched rafter brackets. They measure 1 in to 6 1/16 in across the face, 9 in to 35⅜ in tall and 11 in to 43¾ in in projection.
Choosing by roof pitch. Roof pitch is the rise per 12 in of run, so a 5/12 roof rises 5 in for every foot. BL2682 is made for a 4/12 roof and BL2683 for a 5/12 roof. The other designs are not sold by pitch, so compare the shape on each PDF drawing with your roof slope, and check the projection against the overhang before ordering. What is a gable bracket?
A gable bracket is a decorative piece mounted at the peak of a gable or under the eaves, where it fills the angle between the wall and the roof edge. Spectis gable brackets are polyurethane trim and do not support the roof.
How do I choose a gable bracket for my roof pitch?
Find your roof pitch, the rise in inches for every 12 in of run. BL2682 is made for 4/12 and BL2683 for 5/12. The other gable brackets are not listed for a specific pitch, so compare the angle on the PDF drawing with your roof, and check the height and projection against the space under the rake.
Are gable brackets structural?
No. They are decorative only. Do not use them to carry a beam or any other load.
How are gable brackets installed?
Fit the bracket to a clean, solid surface. Use PL Premium adhesive on every bedding face and joint, along with the recommended screws or finish nails, then paint promptly. Fasteners and paint are sold separately.
Can gable brackets be used outdoors?
Yes. They are made for interior and exterior decorative use and arrive primed white, ready for painting.
