The adhesive for every Spectis polyurethane product: mouldings, corbels, brackets, columns, medallions, louvers and more.

Where to use it
Mouldings
Bed the back faces of crown, casing, base and chair rail against the wall and ceiling. Glue every butt joint and mitre.
Corbels, brackets & blocks
Apply to the full mounting face before fastening.
Columns
Column caps and bases are halved and rejoined around the shaft with PL Premium only.
Medallions, louvers & trim
Bed ceiling medallions, louvers, panels and all other Spectis pieces, and glue their joints.
How much to order
Spectis does not publish a coverage rate per piece or per foot of moulding. As a guide, the adhesive maker rates a 300 ml cartridge at about 24 lineal feet of a 1/4" × 1/4" bead (an 825 ml cartridge at about 66 feet). Bedding faces and joints use more than a single bead, so order extra. Send us your parts list and we can help.
Application tips
Prepare
Surfaces must be clean and completely dry, above 40°F. Finish your prep before opening the cartridge.
Apply
Cut the nozzle, puncture the inner seal and apply with steady pressure. Wear disposable gloves; it stains skin.
Set & cure
Support the piece about 12 hours. It cures with moisture; a light water mist helps thick joints.
Clean & store
Wipe squeeze-out before it cures. Seal an opened nozzle tightly with foil and tape.

Which adhesive should I use to install Spectis products?
Yes. PL Premium is the recommended/required adhesive for installing Spectis products. Bed the back faces against the wall or ceiling and glue every butt joint. Nails or screws only hold the piece while the adhesive sets.
Can I use a different adhesive?
Use PL Premium polyurethane construction adhesive, which is what Spectis specifies for its polyurethane products.
How long before the joint is set?
Bond and support the piece until the adhesive has set, about 12 hours. A 1/4-inch bead fully cures in about 16 to 24 hours at 78°F and 50% relative humidity. You have up to 45 minutes of working time.
How many tubes do I need?

Can I paint or sand over it?
Yes. Cured PL Premium can be painted and sanded. Wipe off squeeze-out before it cures, because cured adhesive on a finished face can only be removed by cutting or sanding.
Can I use it outside or in the cold?
Yes. It is waterproof and works inside or outside. Apply it when surfaces are above 40°F, clean and completely dry.
Product data is from the adhesive manufacturer. Test adhesion on a hidden spot first; PL Premium does not bond well to some plastics.
