RAL2104 Handrail System: Choose Your Length and Baluster

Build a coordinated railing with slim RAL2104 top and bottom rails and your choice of five baluster model-and-height combinations. Choose plain square pickets or two turned profiles in 8, 10 or 12 foot rail lengths.

Each set includes one RAL2104T top rail, one RAL2104B bottom rail, the selected balusters in the quantities below, and rail pre-drilling. Components ship unassembled, primed white and ready to paint.

Choose the profile and assembly height

First choose your rail length: 8, 10 or 12 feet. Then choose your baluster model and assembly height. The two selections determine the included quantity, price and matching product image.

What assembly height means

Assembly height runs from the bottom face of the bottom rail to the top of the top rail. It equals the baluster body height plus 6¼ inches for the two rails. It excludes clearance below the bottom rail and the height of newel posts or caps. The projecting mounting pins seat inside the rails and do not add to the assembled height.

Slim rails with matched seating faces

Each RAL2104 rail is 3⅝ inches at its widest point and 3⅛ inches high. Both have a 2⅞-inch-wide baluster seating face. The selected baluster ends fit within those faces: 1½ inches for BAL2225, 2½ inches for BAL2019-28EXT36, and 2¾ inches for BAL2042.

Spacing and included quantities

The balusters are distributed evenly along the nominal rail length. The first and last baluster centers are half the center-to-center spacing from the rail ends. Approximate layouts are:

• BAL2225-36: 5.333 / 5.217 / 5.333 inches on center for 8 / 10 / 12 foot rails.
• BAL2225-28: 5.333 / 5.217 / 5.333 inches on center for 8 / 10 / 12 foot rails.
• BAL2019-28EXT36: 5.053 / 5.000 / 4.966 inches on center for 8 / 10 / 12 foot rails.
• BAL2042-30: 5.647 / 5.714 / 5.760 inches on center for 8 / 10 / 12 foot rails.
• BAL2042-30EXT36: 5.647 / 5.714 / 5.760 inches on center for 8 / 10 / 12 foot rails.

These layouts stay within the maximum repeats listed in the manufacturer’s catalog for the selected models. Final openings, end conditions, floor clearance, support and fastening details must be checked for the actual installation. Product dimensions and illustrations do not certify a completed installation for use as a guard.

Pre-drilling is included

Every selected price includes rail pre-drilling at $6 per baluster for the rail set. There is no separate drilling charge to add. The BAL2225 options include $108 / $138 / $162 of drilling for 8 / 10 / 12 foot rails. BAL2019-28EXT36 includes $114 / $144 / $174. The BAL2042 options include $102 / $126 / $150.

Installation and finishing

Newel posts, caps, adhesive, fasteners, rail mounting hardware and support blocks are sold separately. Rail lengths are nominal component lengths; newel posts are not included in those dimensions. Confirm the final span and layout before ordering or cutting.

Follow Spectis instructions for the chosen rail and baluster assembly. Use the specified adhesive at all bedding and butt joints, terminate rails at supporting newels, walls or columns, and provide the required support blocks for spans over 8 feet. Finish the primed surface and paint promptly after installation.

Made to order and freight delivery

These components are made to order and cannot be returned. Confirm the model, dimensions, quantity and intended use before ordering. These made-to-order components typically ship within 2–3 weeks from the order date; contact Spectis to confirm timing for a specific project.

Long rails and complete systems ship by LTL freight. Delivery requires a verified commercial address with access for a 52-foot trailer. A home business is residential; a $275 residential fee applies if the carrier classifies the address as residential.
