Factory primed. Paint it after it is up. This is a urethane crosshead. It dresses the top of a door or a window. It is decorative. It does not carry the wall.

How long

The order goes to the Spectis plant in Manitoba the same day. Shipping from Canada typically takes two to three weeks.

How it goes up

Dry-fit it first. If the wall is uneven, shim behind the header so it has solid contact and does not twist when you fasten it. Pre-drill and countersink the holes in the mounting flange or the flat spots. Run a continuous bead of PL Premium (PLP100) on the back edges that touch the wall. Press the header to the level line and drive corrosion-resistant exterior screws or finish nails through those holes into framing or blocking. Wipe the squeeze-out right away. Nails, screws, and adhesive are sold separately. Install notes.

What is it made of?

High density polyurethane. It ships double primed and ready for latex paint.

Does it carry a load?

No. It is decorative trim. It does not carry the wall, the floor, or the roof.

Which glue?

Use PL Premium (PLP100). A different adhesive can attack the urethane. Buy PL Premium.

Can I return it?

No. It is made for your order. Confirm the profile and the size against the drawing before you buy.

How does it ship?
