FTR 30

Made when you order it. It is not a piece kept on a shelf. The catalog plates spell this louvre. It sits in the vertical wall at the end of a gable, not on the ridge and not in the soffit.

Flat trimThis is the trim around a louver, not the vent itself. It does not pass air.
Not a roof ventIt is not a ridge vent, not a soffit vent, and not a turbine. It fills the triangle, arch, half-round, or peak under the rake.
Open or closedOpen leaves a passage between the slats. Closed keeps the shape and uses a solid face. Order the one the wall was framed for.
Made for this orderMolded when you order it. Spectis does not keep it on a shelf, and it cannot be returned.

If it will not go parcel

A piece the carrier will not take as a parcel goes LTL freight. That needs a verified commercial address a 52-foot trailer can pull into. A house with a business in it does not qualify.

If they call it a house

If the carrier decides the address is a residence, a $275 fee is added. You get a confirmation letter so you can correct the address or pay the extra freight.

How long

The order goes to the Spectis plant in Manitoba the same day. Shipping from Canada typically takes two to three weeks.

Where it goes

House gables, garage peaks, dormer faces, and attic end walls. An open louver belongs in a framed opening when that gable is part of how the attic breathes. A closed louver belongs where the wall is already sealed, or where the elevation only needs the profile, such as a porch gable or an interior wall.

How it goes up

Bed it against the opening the way you would any primed millwork. Use PL Premium (PLP100) on every bedding joint and every butt joint. A different adhesive can attack the urethane. Buy PL Premium. Nails, screws, and adhesive are sold separately. Finish nails or screws hold it while the adhesive sets.

Questions

What is it made of?

High density polyurethane. The slats, rails, and keystones are molded, so the profile stays crisp. It ships double primed and ready for latex paint.

Does it vent the attic?

Only an open louver does. A closed louver keeps the look and blocks the air. Order the function the opening was framed for.

Which glue?

Use PL Premium (PLP100) on every bedding joint and every butt joint. A different adhesive can attack the urethane. Buy PL Premium. Nails, screws, and adhesive are sold separately.

Can I return it?

No. It is made for your order. Confirm the shape and the size against the drawing before you buy.

How does it ship?

What if it arrives damaged?

Inspect it when it is delivered and tell the carrier right away. Email sales@spectis.us the same day. If we are not told within 24 hours, Spectis cannot qualify the items for a claim.
