For tapered columns, match the cap to the smaller top diameter and the base to the larger bottom diameter. Confirm the exact drawing for compatibility.
Installation & finishing
- Decorative architectural trim. The cap, base or neck ring does not replace an independently designed structural support.
- Use PL Premium adhesive (PLP100) on every bedding face and butt joint.
- Follow the manufacturer instructions for fastening, joints and finishing. Paint after installation. Adhesive, finish and additional installation fasteners are sold separately.

Shipping method
Caps, bases and neck rings ordered on their own typically ship UPS. If the order includes a column or porch post, the shipment goes by LTL freight.
Delivery address
LTL freight requires a verified commercial address accessible to a 52-foot trailer. A house with a business in it does not qualify. If the carrier classifies the address as residential, a $275 fee is added. A confirmation letter lets you correct the address or pay the extra freight.
How long
The order goes to the Spectis plant in Manitoba the same day. Shipping from Canada typically takes two to three weeks.
Check at delivery
Inspect the shipment on arrival and notify the carrier immediately of damage. Email sales@spectis.us the same day. Report damage within 24 hours for claim qualification.
