Description

RAL2104T

It ships double primed. Paint it after it is installed. This is a rail in a Spectis handrail system. The baluster has to be one the card says fits this rail number.

Top or bottomOrder the top rail and the bottom rail of the same number, unless the line is made as a top only or a bottom only.
With the balusterThe baluster end has to match the plow in this rail. Use the list below, taken from the baluster cards.
Ball ruleThe opening between balusters is what the 4 inch sphere measures, not the rail itself.
Made for this orderMolded when you order it. It is not kept on a shelf, and it cannot be returned.

Balusters that fit

These balusters name this rail on their product card. A system is this rail, top and bottom, plus the baluster.

Ball rule

On a guard, space the balusters so a 4 inch sphere cannot pass. Along open stairs the opening can be large enough for a 4 3/8 inch sphere. The triangle under the stair guard, where the bottom rail meets the riser and the tread, can pass a 6 inch sphere. A residential guard is generally at least 36 inches high, and a stair handrail sits 34 to 38 inches above the nosing. That is the spacing used in the International Residential Code and the International Building Code. Check the code where the rail will be built. The ball rule is for a guard. It does not apply to a decorative roof or to a piece sold as decoration only.

Shipping

Long rail

Handrails in this line are long, usually 8, 10, or 12 feet. They ship LTL freight.

Bought as a system

Most orders are the rail, the balusters, and the newels together. That shipment goes freight with the rail.

Commercial address

Freight needs a verified commercial address a 52-foot trailer can pull into. A house with a business in it does not qualify.

If they call it a house

If the carrier calls the address a residence, a $275 fee is added. You get a confirmation letter so you can correct the address or pay the extra freight.

How it goes up

Terminate the rail at a newel, a wall, or a post. Use PL Premium (PLP100) on every bedding joint and every butt joint. A different adhesive can attack the urethane. Nails, screws, and adhesive are sold separately. Installation notes for balusters and handrails.
